In the Roaring ’20s, there was a great outburst of African-American art and culture centered in Harlem. Composer William Grant Still was a leading figure in the music of this time. On Feb 16 and 17 the Los Angeles Philharmonic will present two programs combining jazz and orchestral music, including Still’s First and Fourth Symphony and a new tribute Still.
