Javier Starks is an emcee, recording artist, songwriter, teacher, community activist, and youth advocate. He uses curse-free Hip Hop to spread positivity worldwide without degrading women, promoting drugs, excessive violence, or over-glorifying money. Javier has performed on historic stages including The Lincoln Center, The Washington Monument, here at The Kennedy Center, and more. He has taken his curse-free Hip Hop to a global audience, teaching youth in Tripoli, Lebanon. He was recently commissioned to fly to South Africa, where he recorded an original song to honor Oliver Tambo’s 100th birthday. He has been featured on CNN, and has appeared on television and local news stations including the Great Day Washington morning show (WUSA-9). He is the Host/MC for ‘Music at the Monument’ in Washington, D.C. He has performed, recorded, and collaborated with numerous award-winning artists including Logic, Robert Glasper, Keyon Harrold, Miles Mosley, Chris Dave, Derrick Hodge, and the West Coast Get Down. His Mission: Creating 100% curse-free music, while being a role model for youth through artistic expression. With every song, Javier Starks continues to entertain, while positively influencing a global audience of fans both young and old!
