LANDR RELEASES REVOLUTIONARY NEW MASTERING ENGINE, ANNOUNCES THAT IT HAS MASTERED 1.2 MILLION SONGS FOR 250,000 GLOBAL USERS

In just one year since launch, LANDR has mastered more tracks than all U.S. music studios combined

NEW YORK, NY — JULY 7TH, 2015LANDR, the cloud-based audio post-production software that’s driven by a sophisticated machine-learning algorithm, today announces that is has mastered more than 1.2 million tracks for a community of 250,000 users and releases its newest engine, ‘Ionian 1.0’, which heralds a long-coming shift in music tech for singer-songwriters and rock, electronic and hip-hop music labels worldwide. LANDR has conquered the world of mastering in only one year, partnering with the leaders of the industry worldwide, such as TuneCore, CD Baby, InGrooves, and even Alibaba’s distribution platform in China, Xiami.

LANDR has also recently raised $6.2 million in funding from renowned rapper and record producer Nas, HDGL (Cirque Du Soleil founders Guy Laliberté and Daniel Gauthier), Warner Music Group (WMG), Plus Eight Private Equity (DJ’s Richie Hawtin, Tiga, John Acquaviva, and Pete Tong), Real Ventures, YUL Ventures, and others. In addition to emerging artists, users of the platform include world-leading DJs, producers and professional musicians such as Tiga, Grateful Dead guitarist Bob Weir, Echosmith, Wolf+Lamb as well as A&R and recording engineer Frank Vasquez of Doggystyle Records – and Orlando Puerta (remixing A&R for Madonna, Azealia Banks and more), who have all used LANDR in the final stages of audio production.

“Technology has allowed for more creators to be birthed. More and more music is being made but certain parts of the process don’t have consumer tools to help make fine and crisp finishes,” says rapper and producer Nas. “I believe LANDR is an affordable groundbreaking technology to help musicians make music that has a quality finish like any major label artist with a budget. I’m excited to help the LANDR team take their technology global.”

Designed by a team of leading international researchers, the new platform benefits listeners and producers with improved focus, dynamic and color in their sound. Specifically, it features a completely redesigned interface, more advanced artificial intelligence and updates to the corrective EQ, multi-band compressor, multi-band stereo enhancer and limiter. ‘Ionian 1.0’ will also mark vast improvements across genre-detection, machine-learning, dynamics processing (especially in drops and breaks) and mixed-correction – resulting in an incredibly smooth sound that rivals the work of professional sound engineers.

“We are thrilled to see the music industry rallying behind our technology,” says LANDR CEO Pascal Pilon. “With the relationships we have with musicians such as rapper and producer Nas or with Grammy award-winning audio engineer and producer Mike Latterell, we can now explore the full potential of artificial intelligence as an enabler of creativity. We look forward to working more closely with all artists and labels around the world and to welcoming many more emerging artists to our new platform.”
