Dexter Gordon was an American jazz tenor saxophonist, composer, and bandleader. Emerging from the swing era, he became a pioneering force in bebop, collaborating with legends like Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie. His iconic Blue Note recordings of the 1960s, including Go! and Our Man in Paris, remain defining works of the genre. With a career spanning over 40 years, Gordon’s bold tone, lyrical phrasing, and commanding stage presence cemented his status as one of jazz’s most charismatic and influential voices.
