DC-area staple DJ 2-Tone Jones recently released his long-awaited debut album CONTRABAND FROM INDIA, a compilation album inspired by his travels to the land of Gandhi as a part of the inaugural Next Level Hip Hop Diplomacy program sponsored by the US State Department. The album features production and guest appearances by Diamond D, Waajeed, Prince Po, Kev Brown, Asheru, Supastition, Uptown XO & yU (2/3 of Diamond District), John Robinson, J Scienide, DJ Roddy Rod and many more!

On Friday, July 30 join 2-Tone and other guest artists from the album for a special listening party event at Byrdland Records. Hear from 2-Tone himself about the process of putting together an album that’s been 5 years in the making. He’ll also play some of the original Indian records that were sampled for the production.
