Mexican-American LA native Danie showcases a sound that’s a thoughtful mixture of retro 60’s Chicano soul and ‘70s glam with a sultry R&B twist.

Danie started making music in 2012, leading her previous project, Welfare. A vocalist, musician, and producer, she creates primarily by stream-of-consciousness. She’s previously collaborated with Chicano Batman lead singer Bardo Martinez on his first solo release, Everywhere Reminds Me of Space. She toured with Martinez in 2019 after lending her soulful vocals on tracks “Summer” and “Bad Education.”

After turning solo, she dropped debut single “No Lookin Away” in October 2020. She then released weekly episodes of her self filmed and edited docu series on YouTube, which shares her journey and recording process with her father in Rosarito, Mexico. This all led to her bilingual single release of “I Don’t Know Why” in early 2021. Her debut EP, Bittersweet, is out now on all streaming platforms.
