Diamond D – One of the founding members of the DITC crew (Diggin In The Crates), Diamond D is a Bronx native MC / DJ / producer. True school hip-hop heads first heard his productions on Lord Finesse’s debut album Funky Technician in 1990 alongside DJ Premier, but his guest verse on A Tribe Called Quest’s  track “Show Business” from their classic 1991 album Low End Theory was many people’s introduction to him. His debut album Stunts, Blunts, and Hip Hop is arguably one of the best hip hop albums of the 90’s. Some other classics he’s produced include “Soul Clap” for Showbiz & AG (1991), “Punks Jump Up” for Brand Nubian (1992), “Flow Joe” for Fat Joe (1993), and “Day One” for DITC (1997). Other credits include productions, remixes, and guest verses for Cypress Hill, House Of Pain, Outkast, The Pharcyde, KRS One, The Fugees, Queen Latifah, Busta Rhymes, Mos Def, Jay Z, and Too Short.

Large Professor – Large Professor got his start working on tracks for Eric B & Rakim’s 3rd album Let The Rhythm Hit ‘Em in 1990 while working as the MC and producer for Main Source. Their debut LP Breaking Atoms from 1991 was named the # 4 greatest album of that year by The Source Magazine. It also introduced the world to Nas who was featured on the posse cut “Live At The BBQ”. Large Professor has done songs with Slick Rick, Gang Starr, Beastie Boys, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Busta Rhymes, Big Daddy Kane, Mobb Deep, Public Enemy, and A Tribe Called Quest. He is probably best known for his work on Nas’s debut Illmatic, making classic singles like “Halftime” and “It Ain’t Hard To Tell”. He was recently named in the top 5 best hip hop producers of all time by The Alchemist.

Schoolly D – Schoolly D is hailed as the Godfather of Gangsta Rap thanks to a 12” single “PSK” b/w “Gucci Time” that he produced, rhymed on, did the artwork for, and self released out of Philly in 1985. Ice T’s “6 in the Morning” was loosely based on those 2 songs in both theme and rhyme style (he confirms this in interviews), which then gave birth to the song “Boyz In The Hood” by Eazy E  which continued the lineage in both style and subject matter (listen to the songs back to back if you don’t believe). His songs have been sampled by Eminem, Notorious BIG, J Lo, Prodigy, Fatboy Slim, Gang Starr, Mary J Blige, Public Enemy, J Dilla, De La Soul, Snoop, Beastie Boys, and Common. In the 2000’s, he narrated and did the theme music for Cartoon Network/Adult Swim’s Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
