God Said Give ‘Em Drum Machines returns to Detroit’s Michigan Science Center on May 26 for an encore screening experience at 7 PM. Witness the story of Techno history. Join the movement to celebrate Detroit as the birthplace of Techno.
God Said Give ‘Em Drum Machines (starring Juan Atkins, Blake Baxter, Santonio Echols, Eddie Fowlkes, Richie Hawtin, Mike Huckaby, Derrick May, and Kevin Saunderson) is the story behind one of Detroit’s great contributions to world culture: Techno, the electronic music phenomenon created by Black artists in the 1980s that transformed dance music internationally and blossomed into the multi-billion dollar industry of EDM today. The film premiered in June 2022 at Tribeca Festival in New York City, and has since traveled to numerous festivals across Europe and Australia.
