House Music is a Chicago-born, American musical art form founded in the neighborhoods of Chicago in the early 1980s. Created and propagated by Black, Latinx, and other creative youth, House music powers festivals and nightclubs worldwide and is beloved by millions. From July to September, Chicago will celebrate its House music origins with House City — a 10-neighborhood traveling party organized by The Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) as part of the 2021 Year of Chicago Music. Each House City event will feature House music played by DJs with ties to our Chicago neighborhoods, plus food trucks will be on hand to provide refreshments.

Admission to every House City event is FREE! For complete details, visit ChicagoHouseMusicFestival.us.
