Pack your bags and join us for an epic symphonic train ride through centuries of slave songs and abolitionists who led us to freedom conducted by Maestro Vince Womack. The program features Soprano, Gwen Brown from the Fisk Jubilee Singers performing “Echoes From the Journey” by Zenobia Powell Perry and Janise White, Pianist performing “The Glory Hallelujah Jazz Variations” by Howlett “Smitty” Smith.

The Symphonic Freedom Train Concert promises to be a night filled with guest actors and choral ensemble performing folk songs hollers and freedom songs encapsulating the empowering strains along the journey by composers, Roland Hayes, Florence Price, Undine Smith Moore, and Zenobia Powell Perry. Other works include: The Afro-American Symphony by William Grant Still. Danse Negre by Samuel Coleridge Taylor and Concert Overture No. 2 by Florence Price. This will be a most memorable train ride to freedom.
