Having entertained international audiences throughout her life, Kimmie Horne is a globally recognized jazz singer from Detroit. In both creating her musical lane and providing other artists a platform to perform, Horne is a bonafide part of Detroit’s musical history. As the kin to Grammy award-winning singer-dancer and actress Lena Horne, Jimmie Horne continues her family’s musical legacy, not the least of which is her own Kimmie Horne Jazz Festival —a free, family-friendly late summer outdoor event. Horne herself has also shared the stage with such notables as En Vogue, The Temptations, The Neville Brothers, Aretha Franklin, and many more.
