LOUIS A Silent Movie w/ Live Accaompaniment by Wynton Marsalis. In this very special evening, jazz icon Wynton Marsalis and a 10-piece all-star jazz ensemble to perform a score comprised primarily of Marsalis’ own compositions to accompany the film Louis.
This silent film from 2010 is an homage to Louis Armstrong, Charlie Chaplin, and the birth of American music, directed by Dan Pritzker and starring Jackie Earle Haley, Shanti Lowry, and Anthony Coleman.
Shot by Academy Award-winning cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond as a modern re-imagining of early silent film, Louis with live accompaniment is an experience in the theatre you won’t soon forget.
