MAKE SOME NOISE
Andrew Munger
Winner of Best Canadian Short at 1994 Toronto International Film Festival.
Make Some Noise is a snapshot of hip hop music and culture in Toronto, circa 1994. The documentary reveals a creative and powerful underground movement bubbling in beneath the surface in Canada’s largest cities.
The filmmakers give voice to some of the movement’s most outspoken and opinionated characters, including Farley Flex, Johnbronski, Thrust, Motion and Kwajo of Ghetto Concept. The film includes a rare freestyle by the then unknown Mos Def who kicks it in the basement studio of CKLN radio.
Produced and Directed by Andrew Munger. Associate Producer: John Adams. Cinematography: Gregory Bennett
Starring: MVP, Nu Black Nation, Ghetto Concept, DJX, Da Grass Roots and many others.
