Movement Music Festival has announced the set times for its 2023 edition, featuring over 115 acts across six stages and three days. The lineup includes headline performances by electronic music legends Underworld, Basement Jaxx (DJ Set), along with Techno star Charlotte de Witte, as well as dance music titan Skrillex; Techno pioneer Cybotron; enigmatic House legend and Detroit favorite Moodymann; acclaimed electronic music producer Bonobo (DJ Set); legendary Memphis hip-hop group Three 6 Mafia; plus Caribou, Carl Craig ft. Jon Dixon (live), Zeds Dead (Altered States), Kaskade Redux, Dom Dolla b2b John Summit, Masters At Work, Robert Hood (live), Ida Engberg, Special Request, Stephan Bodzin (live), DJ Seinfeld, Adam Port, Ricardo Villalobos, Green Velvet, TSHA, Ela Minus, LSDXOXO, SPFDJ and many more.
The festival’s stages for 2023 are as follows: Movement Stage, Waterfront Stage presented by JARS, Pyramid Stage, Stargate Stage, Underground Stage, Detroit Stage, as well as pop-up sets in the VIP Area from Soul Clap, Mija & Friends, and Detroit Techno Militia. In addition to the on-site music programming, the festival will feature multiple art installations and interactive studio spaces; including the Movement Studio presented by Sweetwater (located near the Detroit Stage) showcasing the latest technology and gear from industry leaders, offering attendees hands-on demonstrations and a chance to win many of the instruments on display; Detroit Techno City – a collaborative art installation between acclaimed Detroit artists Amy Fisher Price and Kelly Golden in partnership with 1XRUN. The installation, located in the Pyramid Amphitheatre (near the Pyramid Stage), combines the artists’ respective mediums of fabric for Amy and paint for Kelly, to create an otherworldly, immersive alien rave world featuring friends from space, Techno, Detroit, and Movement – the best party in town. The festival will also host the Respect the Architects exhibition, curated by Underground Music Academy (UMA), in partnership with Resident Advisor and Detroit Techno Foundation. The exhibition, located in the Underground Amphitheatre (near the Underground Stage) recognizes and celebrates some of Detroit electronic music community’s most impactful and unsung heroes, including Delano Smith, Mike “Mad Mike” Banks of Underground Resistance, Mike Huckaby, K-Hand, Ron Murphy, James Pennington, Trackmaster Lou and many more.
