Legendary multiple Grammy-nominated percussionist Sammy Figueroa performs music from his latest album Searching For A Memory (Busco Tu Recuerdo), a tribute to his father, Puerto Rican singer Charlie Figueroa, one of the great romantic singers of the 1950s. At Dizzy’s Club, Charlie’s classic boleros – transformed into modern Latin jazz arrangements by Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Ricardo Rodriguez, and Felipe Lamoglia – will feature some of the tradition’s greatest living players. Figueroa invites Grammy Award-winning Cuban singer, instrumentalist, and celebrated actor Aymée Nuviola to be part of this two-night event that pays homage to a hero of the music’s storied lineage.
