To celebrate the centennial of iconic bebop pioneer, pianist/composer Bud Powell on September 27, Jazz at Lincoln Center presents In Walked Savion Glover and ELEW—a uniquely curated event of tap dance and piano for three nights only. Legendary tapper Savion Glover, who rose to fame at age 12 in “The Tap Dance Kid,” brings his improvisational mastery to the stage. Glover said, “I came up in live performance and it was improvisation. There are no double takes.” He will be joined by pianist and former JLCO member Eric Lewis (ELEW), who shares, “There’s something amazing about the connection he [Glover] and I have in the music. Crazy amazing. This JALC run will be magnificent and must-see performances.”
