The Signature Series presents Emmy Award winning saxophonist Braxton Cook leading the Braxton Cook Berklee Sextet.
Matthew Stevens, assistant professor of ensemble, selected the student sextet by audition and is rehearsing them in Cook’s chosen repertoire in preparation for the concert.
Described by Fader Magazine as a “jazz prodigy”, Saint Heron noted Cook’s demonstration of “unmatched flexibility by merging multiple genres into an ardent, passionate and soul-filled project.” Besides releasing 5 projects under his own name, Cook has worked with Christian Scott, Christian McBride, Jon Batiste, Marquis Hill, Rihanna, Solange Knowles and more.
