Sophia Cruz is a Funk, Neosoul singer and musician taking influence from artists such as Stevie Wonder, Allen Stone, Hiatus Kaiyote and Amy Winehouse and more. Her origins trace back to growing up in a household with parents as musicians. Her inspiration for becoming a multi-instrumentalist is nothing but a reflection of the environment she was raised in. Learning and listening to anything from Funk and Jazz, to Opera and Folk. She attended Columbia College Chicago for undergrad and received a bachelor’s in vocal performance and a minor in music business. She has continually been writing, recording, and performing her original music. With soulful wisdom in her sound of rich, warm vocals in funky, pocketed grooves, she continues to offer a fresh perspective on music new and old inspired by the foundation of classic Funk, Soul and RnB.

Mari is an independent Latina artist from Los Angeles, performing at hundreds of venues in southern California, from Disneyland to Hollywood. She combines Latin fusion covers with originals to create a lively atmosphere for almost any crowd, and she just released her first Spanglish single this year. She prides herself in emotionally charged lyrics and smooth beats and, as a creator, describes her work as authentic, empathetic, and pure. She aims to make music that empowers women to feel comfortable embracing who they are and what they stand for – as she strives to do the same. As a child of parents from very different backgrounds, she takes pride in making music that connects to the Latin community by bridging the gap for people like herself, who were born in the US but remain attached to the families, communities, and traditions that remain the foundation of their upbringing.
