About
“Saving Jones” is a powerful and poignant feature length documentary written and directed by Rebecca Corry. It is a biographical social commentary about the abuse and discrimination directed at pit bull-type dogs. The film is also an indictment of malicious humans whose actions have made pits the most abused, discriminated against, and murdered dogs on earth. Corry has dedicated her life to saving them. “Saving Jones” is a heartwarming yet tragic, inspiring and truthful look at why what is happening to these inherently good dogs is a direct reflection of a broken society and is everyone’s problem. Stand Up For Pits Foundation
The Stand Up For Pits Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to educating, advocating, and saving the lives of pit bull-type dogs. The foundation was inspired by Angel, a rescued pit bull who profoundly changed the life of its Executive Director, Rebecca Corry.
After witnessing the daily injustices faced by pit bulls in America and around the world, Corry knew she had to act. In 2013, she began producing Stand Up For Pits comedy events in Los Angeles, which quickly grew into a sold-out national tour. Top-lined by some of the country’s preeminent comedians, including Adam Sandler, Marc Maron, Tig Notaro, John Mulaney, and Patton Oswalt, these events have since saved countless lives, supported shelters and rescues, and helped place numerous dogs into loving “forever homes.” In 2014, Corry organized the historic One Million PIBBLE March in Washington, D.C., where around 5,000 people from the U.S. and Canada gathered at the nation’s capital to raise awareness about the dogfighting epidemic and Breed Specific Legislation (BSL).
Through its events, the Stand Up For Pits Foundation raises funds for pit bull rescues, provides vital publicity, and facilitates adoptions during live events. The foundation also supports frontline rescue efforts and runs the Spay & Neuter Angel Day program, offering services to underserved communities nationwide. The SUFP Foundation believes that the mistreatment of pit bulls is more than an animal welfare issue—it’s a reflection of a broken society. To create safer communities for both people and pets, everyone must play a role in solving this widespread problem. For more information visit: https://standupforpits.us
