First appearing on record at six years old, Bob Marley’s second son Stephen has helped carry his father’s reggae legacy since the 1990s. Starting as a supporting player in brother Ziggy’s Melody Makers ensemble, Stephen Marley would eventually branch out on his own, remixing the likes of the Fugees and first tasting his love of Hip-Hop and R&B. This love found its way across much of Stephen Marley’s musical output, having worked with the likes of Eve, Erykah Badu, Rakim, and Rick Ross. Further work with brother Damian, including on the iconic Welcome to Jamrock, led to a 2007 debut and the two-volume Revelation album series. A consulate performer, this summer, join Stephen Marley’s Babylon by Bus tour as it jams its way into Detroit’s Art Franklin Amphitheatre on July 22.

The date also sees the stellar collection of musicians known as Lettuce on opening duties. Over their two-decade career, the group have combined soulful groove with hip-hop urgency, forging a new sound in classic funk through musicianship and rhythm.
