Summer of Music is a partnership between the Noise Pop and Civic Joy Fund, a non profit devoted towards activating San Francisco public spaces with arts, performances, and music. For every weekend this summer, Summer of Music brought live music to 6 San Francisco neighborhoods to support local musicians and help bring traffic to local businesses.
Join us for a day-long festival in the park, celebrating the end of the season and the musical culture that makes San Francisco so great. Featuring a finale concert with Thundercat, Lee Fields, and Combo Tezeta! Plus! Enjoy pop-up performances from some of our local Summer of Music musicians. Perfect for the whole family, the Meadow Party includes tons of local vendors, delicious food and beverages, and activities all day long.
The Summer of Music program and Meadow Party would not be possile without the support and deep generosity of Joby Pritzker.

Thundercat
In recent years Thundercat, aka Stephen Bruner, has completed his transition from virtuoso bassist to bonafide star and cemented his reputation as a wholly unique voice, transcending genre. He has become a cornerstone of the Brainfeeder label having released “The Golden Age of Apocalypse” (2011), “Apocalypse” (2013), “Drunk” (2017), and his 2020 album “It Is What It Is” won Best Progressive R&B Album at the 63rd GRAMMY Awards, featuring Ty Dolla $ign, Childish Gambino, Lil B, Kamasi Washington, Steve Lacy, Steve Arrington, BADBADNOTGOOD, Louis Cole, Pedro Martins and Zack Fox. The record was produced by Thundercat and his longtime partner Flying Lotus who was GRAMMY-nominated in “Producer of the Year, Non-Classical” for his work on the album.
Lee Fields
Lee Fields is arguably the greatest soul singer alive today. In an age when the shelf life of an artist largely depends on posturing and trends, he has proven to be an unassailable force of nature. His prolific, decade-spanning career continues to reign supreme on the modern soul scene. In addition to twenty albums and over forty singles, he has taken the stage at almost every major festival and relevant venue on the planet, including Coachella, Bonnaroo, Newport Folk, Roskilde, Outside Lands, Rock en Seine, Carnegie Hall, the Olympia in Paris, and the Paradiso in Amsterdam. His body of work continues to garner the attention of pop artists and producers via samples by hip hop heavyweights: J. Cole, Travis Scott, Rick Ross, A$ap Rocky. This October, Lee releases his 21st full-length, Sentimental Fool — a soulful, bluesy return to his rhythm & blues roots.
Combo Tezeta
Based out of the Bay Area, Combo Tezeta plays a highly danceable blend of instrumental Cumbias, Chichas, and Musica Tropical inspired by the late 60’s and early 70’s era of psychedelic Peru. Layering the reverb-fueled sounds of surf rock onto the foundations of Cumbia, the band’s focus is to highlight the rich melodies and hypnotic rhythms birthed from the Afro-Latin diaspora. Along with its appreciation of world music and its diverse cultures, Combo Tezeta’s mission is to deliver the sounds and musical echoes of the past to the present through a combination of traditional and original music.
