Tobias Meinhart is an award-winning saxophonist and composer based in Brooklyn, New York, originally from Bavaria, Germany. Over the past 15 years, he has made a significant impact on the international jazz scene, performing at prestigious New York venues such as Blue Note, Birdland, and Smalls, and touring globally with his band. JazzThing Magazine calls him “Germany’s biggest talent on the saxophone,” and Downbeat Magazine named his latest album, The Painter, one of the best albums of 2023. Meinhart’s band for this project includes some of the most prominent musicians in the New York jazz scene, including pianist Eden Ladin, bassist Matt Penman, and drummer Obed Calvaire. The frontline is completed by Meinhart’s longtime mentor and friend, trumpeter Ingrid Jensen.
