Making Beats
A Production Workshop with 9th Wonder and The Soul Council
The Kennedy Center invites rising producers to apply for a chance to study with Grammy Award-winning producer and Founding Hip Hop Culture Council Member 9th Wonder and members of The Soul Council. Through a three-day intensive with 9th Wonder, Khrysis, Kash, Sndtrak and E. Jones, participating producers will gain a better understanding of the history of Hip Hop Production and be given additional tools and skills to hone their craft while producing new beats. Students will then have an opportunity to showcase their skills by participating in Making Beats: Beat Battle.

Eligibility
Making Beats is open to emerging and young professional producers (ages 18–35) who are full-time US residents. Invited participants are expected to take part in all workshop activities at The Kennedy Center from Thursday, October 27 – Sunday October 30, 2022.
Practical Information
There is no fee to apply. Invited participants are expected to arrive in Washington, D.C. the day before the workshop begins and depart the day after it concludes. Shared hotel accommodations are provided, if needed. The Kennedy Center can defray the cost of round-trip travel to Washington D.C. for those beyond a 50-miles radius.
