Jarobi
Jarobi White, born in St. Albans, Queens, met future group member Phife Dawg in the early 1980s. The two went on to collaborate with Q Tip and eventually Ali Shaheed Muhammad to form A Tribe Called Quest. Jarobi was a founding member of the group, serving as host on their debut album, People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm. He continued to provide inspiration and creative input throughout the group’s history.

In 2007, Jarobi was honored alongside A Tribe Called Quest at VH1’s fourth annual Hip Hop Honors. At the height of the group’s success, he stepped away from music to pursue his passion for the culinary arts, building a successful career as an executive chef and restaurant manager in Washington, DC, South Carolina, and Atlanta.

In 2012, Jarobi returned to music, teaming up with fellow Native Tongues member Dres to form Evitan. The duo released Speed of Life while Jarobi simultaneously worked as a chef in New York City’s West Village, helping lead the restaurant to a Michelin rating. His appearance in the acclaimed documentary Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest rekindled fans’ appreciation for the mysterious fourth member of one of hip hop’s most beloved groups.

Tash
Tash (Rico Smith) is a founding member of the legendary Los Angeles hip hop trio Tha Alkaholiks (Tha Liks), one of the most influential underground rap groups to emerge from the West Coast in the 1990s. Renowned for his razor sharp lyricism, charismatic stage presence, and unmistakable delivery, Tash helped define the group’s signature blend of party anthems, jazz influenced production, and elite MC skills across acclaimed albums including 21 & Over, Coast II Coast, Likwidation, X.O. Experience, and Firewater.

Beyond his work with Tha Alkaholiks, Tash has enjoyed a successful solo career while collaborating with artists across the hip hop spectrum. As a member of the influential Likwit Crew, he remains a respected voice in West Coast hip hop, continuing to tour internationally and earning recognition as one of the genre’s most enduring and underrated lyricists.
