DJ Adrian Loving Commissioned to Perform at 2012 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner Reception and Party

District creative DJ Adrian Loving has been commissioned by Thomson Reuters to perform a music program for their pre and post receptions of the 2012 White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) dinner, Saturday, April 28. This year’s highly anticipated dinner will be held at the Washington Hilton Hotel, and headlined by the late-night comic Jimmy Kimmel.

The WHCA dinner is traditionally attended by the President and First Lady as well as many other senior government officials and members of the press corps. Proceeds from the dinner go toward scholarships and awards aimed at supporting aspiring journalists and recognizing excellence in the profession, www.whca.net

Loving will perform a special curated set of ambient and upbeat music, accompanied by percussionist Thomas Pipkin and violinist Chelsea Green.

“This type of event performance is a lifetime dream of mine. It’s a true honor to be performing my talent as a music artist to this esteemed audience of senior government officials, noted journalists, and celebrities alike. I look to this event as a milestone in my career,” says Loving.

For nearly a decade, Adrian Loving has created the musical soundtrack for coveted events throughout Washington, DC, New York, Miami, San Francisco, and abroad. His resume includes such clients as Pharrell Williams for his DC launch of Qream Liqueur, the W Hotel, Black Entertainment Television (BET), Downtown DC, Art Basel: Miami, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African Art, Corcoran Gallery of Art, DC Modern Luxury, and the House of Sweden. He has also been featured in theWashington PostEbony MagazineWashingtonianDC Modern LuxuryCapitol File, and was the face of a national Verizon ad campaign in 2005.

In 2011, he was selected as the official DC brand ambassador and DJ artist for the Elie Tahari and Rag & Bone district stores. Loving received his BFA in Graphic Design from Howard University and an MFA in Museum Exhibition Planning & Design from The University of The Arts, Philadelphia. Loving currently works as an adjunct professor of Graphic Design at Marymount University.
