KICKSTARTER: JAMAICA HOUSE Documentary

JAMAICA HOUSE was LA’s biggest and longest running urban nightspot of the 90s, lasting over a decade. In this chronicle of the club, you venture behind the velvet rope of Hollywood, with rap & reggae’s golden-era elite. Founded by four boyhood friends, the club was a flashpoint in cultural history, surviving gangs, drugs, the The LA Riots, and growing violence in the culture. This is also a coming of age story for the boyhood founders, and for rap itself. As the music changed, the club ‘blew-up’ beyond it’s underground roots. The founders struggled with money, new fame, old demons, and the trappings of success. Never seen before performances and interviews from TUPAC SHAKUR, NOTORIOUS B.I.G., RUN-DMC, ICE CUBE, W.C., WU-TANG CLAN, THE ROOTS, GANG STAR, THE SUPERCAT, DADDY FREDDY, MR. VEGAS, PHARCYDE and members of NWA highlight the film.
