Esteemed singer, songwriter, and producer Anderson .Paak releases his “Lockdown” remix bundle today via Aftermath Entertainment, exclusively distributed by 12Tone Music, LLC.
The 5-track “Lockdown” remix bundle includes instrumental, acapella, and the official remix featuring JID, Noname, and Jay Rock.
Inspiration for the song followed .Paak’s participation in a Los Angeles Black Lives Matter protest where peaceful protestors were being shot with rubber bullets by the police.
Met with rave reviews, the original version was released on Juneteenth with a video directed by Dave Meyers featuring Andra Day, Jay Rock, Syd, SiR, Dumbfoundead & Dominic Fike. The cast & crew who participated in “Lockdown” donated their salaries to Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective (BEAM), Dream Defenders, and Color of Change. Anderson’s .Paak House foundation made a charitable contribution to bail funds across LA, NY, and Atlanta. A limited edition 10” vinyl of the remix bundle will be available with the artist’s share of proceeds benefiting the Colin Kaepernick Foundation.
