Written by Fiona Bloom of The Bloom Effect

The First ‘I GOT SOUL’ Music Conference put on by Neo Soul Café brought out about 200 or so soul enthusiasts, artists, producers, dj’s, publicists and entrepreneurs around the Country from as far as Canada, Seattle, LA, NY, Miami and Atlanta.

It’s living proof that this soul movement is alive and well and VIABLE. Neo Soul Café’s Frances Jaye is the creative and visionary force behind this innovation. She was able to get Ms. Erykah Badu’s blessing and support by coming out to host the conference. With name artists like Erykah, the movement will continue to flourish, bloom and prosper. The more the mainstream media and fans embrace it, the quicker this industry will awaken and allow Indie Soul to thrive and reap all its benefits.

Anthony David, Chokolate, Yahzarah, Melissa Young, Donnie, Rahbi, Carmen Rogers, Tre Hardson, Brooklyn Red, Nuwamba, Keit and others.
