On Saturday night May the 5th, around 11:30pm or so, Chickie Wah Wah is thrilled to welcome the pride of Hillaryville, LA, the incredible soul singer Durand Jones! When we started contemplating what artists we would love to showcase at our series this year, one of the very first people that we thought of who could bring the fire late night on a Saturday, following the legendary Terence Blanchard, was this man. We even started to think about bands that we could find to back him up in order to make it work, but in a stroke of luck, when we reached out Durand had just moved back to Louisiana, to Baton Rouge, and he had a band of his own that he was already working on getting together. The timing was perfect.
