A bit more about our curator:
Jahmal Padmore is a Black musician, composer and producer based in Toronto. Over the last 15 years he’s worked both as a solo artist and collaborator with the likes of The Carps, MSTRKRFT, Just John, Thunderheist, and Brendan Philip. He’s also worked with several Canadian record labels such as Dine Alone, UrbNet and currently with Telephone Explosion Records.

Jahmal describes his sound as “lush, electronic textures layered under live instrumentation like drums, guitar and steel drums, with vocals that are intimate and personal, coalescing in a kind of 80s funk-inspired spiritual R&B.”

Other live performance highlights include playing on Jimmy Kimmel (with MSTRKRFT), touring with Thunder Heist, performing with Lakeith Stanfield, as well as MNDSGN.
