Micah Davis, known professionally as Masego, is a Jamaican-American singer, rapper, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who is known for blending genres such as jazz, R&B, and hip-hop. Masego began playing the piano at a young age and started producing music while in high school. He released his debut EP, The Pink Polo EP, in 2015, and in 2016, Masego collaborated with producer FKJ on the single “Tadow,” which went viral and has since amassed over 400 million views on YouTube. He has since released several more EPs and his debut full-length album, Lady Lady, in 2018 followed by Studying Abroad: Extend Stay in 2021, and his self-titled album Masego in 2023. Masego has collaborated with a variety of artists, including Don Toliver, Kaytranda, Yuesf Davis, SiR, and JID. Masego’s music is often described as “trap house jazz” and he has been praised for his innovative style and energetic live performances.
