Melvin M. Miller’s brand has grown to now include the distinguished title of Doctor of Music (honoris causa)! His brand also includes Radio Personality. Melvin has his own radio show on WJZA Smooth Jazz 101.1 fm Smooth 100 based in Atlanta but heard around the world EVERY Sunday at 7pm! His Newest release “GOTTA GET UP” feat. Melvin is a featured Artist on the late Malcolm Jamal Warner’s Grammy Nominated recording “Hiding in Plain View”. He has also recorded with Alex Bugnon, a featured artist with Bob Baldwin, a featured artist with PJ Spraggins, Speech of Arrested Development, Ann Nesby and others. He also performed in the late Curtis Mayfield/Repercussion music video, “Let’s Do It Again,” and has even jammed with the late legendary Prince.

Melvin’s musical talent, from classical to jazz, has made him a world-renowned artist and Musical Director (MD). He held the principal trumpet position with the African American Philharmonic Orchestra of Atlanta. Melvin was the MD, composer, and performer of the opening fanfare for the Trumpet Awards. Melvin was the MD for international recording artist Gloria Gaynor and The Original “Dream Girl” Jennifer Holliday. He is a member of the unique group, Five Men. He has performed across the U.S. and internationally. The sound of Melvin’s trumpet can be heard in Tyler Perry’s movie “Madea’s Family Reunion.” Melvin regularly performs the National Anthem for the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Hawks, Sky Hawks and The Atlanta Dream.
