Project Healthy Minds & Music Health Alliance Partner to Expand Mental Health Access
PROJECT HEALTHY MINDS AND MUSIC HEALTH ALLIANCE ANNOUNCE STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP TO EXPAND ACCESS TO MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT FOR MUSIC INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS
Project Healthy Minds, a leading mental health nonprofit, and Music Health Alliance, the national leader in providing trusted advocacy and access to healthcare, health insurance, and mental health resources for the music community, have announced a strategic partnership to expand mental health access and support for music industry professionals nationwide.
This collaboration will focus on research-driven solutions, innovative programming, and sustainable pathways to care for the music community. The partnership’s first phase includes the launch of a custom, co-branded digital platform powered by Project Healthy Minds’ technology, integrated on the Music Health Alliance website to serve as an additional resource for music professionals seeking mental health support.
The two organizations will also collaborate on research and reporting to identify barriers to care, develop targeted interventions, and create scalable solutions that address the unique mental health challenges facing music industry professionals.
Quotes
“Music professionals give so much of themselves to the world, often at great personal cost,” said Tatum Hauck Allsep, Founder and CEO of Music Health Alliance. “There are unique pressures in being a touring artist or industry leader that make it so hard to ask for help. The first step in this groundbreaking partnership between Music Health Alliance and Project Healthy Minds is a solution ensuring that safe, confidential, and trusted mental health support is available quickly and easily to music industry professionals wherever and whenever there is a need.”
“The music industry faces mental health challenges at rates higher than the general public, yet traditional systems aren’t built for touring artists, studio musicians, or crew members working irregular hours,” said Phil Schermer, Founder and CEO of Project Healthy Minds. “This partnership with Music Health Alliance is about getting access to mental health support for those who power the music we love.”
About the Partnership
The new platform will serve as a front door on the internet to mental health support for music professionals. It offers fast, easy-to-use access to services screened by mental health experts, the ability to filter by need, price, or location, and support across the full continuum of care—from digital self-care to crisis intervention. It will also feature services specifically designed for children and teens.
The partnership includes plans for collaborative research and reporting to better understand and address mental health challenges in the music industry, as well as potential future events and content initiatives.
