Andrew Renfroe is a dynamic guitarist whose blend of roots, blues, and blistering improvisation makes him a force on today’s jazz and creative music scenes. With a sound that’s both soul-stirring and technically bold, he’s worked with legends and innovators alike, including Billy Childs, Carmen Lundy, Keyon Harrold, Chief Adjuah, Tia Fuller, and Braxton Cook. Drawing inspiration from Delta blues, field recordings from West Africa, modern jazz, and American folk music, Renfroe shapes a genre-crossing style that’s as emotionally rich as it is inventive. His performances crackle with intensity and nuance, channeling influences from John Coltrane to Mississippi Fred McDowell, Roy Hargrove, and Tom Petty.
