GRAMMY-nominated poet, artist, organizer and bandleader aja monet returns with the color of rain, her anticipated new album out now via drink sum wtr.

Blending jazz, soul, hip-hop, rhythm and blues, the color of rain unfolds as a deeply personal and expansive body of work rooted in surrealism, resistance, intimacy and spiritual reflection. Co-produced by aja monet, Justin Brown and Meshell Ndegeocello, the project features contributions from Georgia Anne Muldrow, Brandee Younger, Mereba, Mick Jenkins, Vic Mensa and more.

Alongside the album release, aja monet has also announced new 2026 tour dates across North America, Europe and Australia, including upcoming stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Montréal, Toronto, Melbourne and additional international festival appearances.

Throughout the album, aja monet continues to expand the relationship between poetry and music, building immersive sonic landscapes that move fluidly between spoken word, improvisation, jazz instrumentation and political meditation. The project reflects the lineage of Black artistic resistance while remaining emotionally intimate and deeply contemporary.
