Thundercat Shares New Single “ThunderWave” Featuring WILLOW Ahead of Distracted
Thundercat has released “ThunderWave” featuring WILLOW, the latest preview of his upcoming album Distracted, due out April 3 via Brainfeeder.
Following earlier singles including “She Knows Too Much” featuring Mac Miller, “I Did This To Myself” featuring Lil Yachty and Flying Lotus, and “I Wish I Didn’t Waste Your Time,” the new track finds Thundercat and WILLOW leaning into a softer, more atmospheric space. Their harmonies float over Greg Kurstin’s ambient production, giving the song a late-night, quiet storm feel.
Thundercat described the collaboration as a meaningful reflection of their real-life creative connection, calling the experience of making the song together a joyful one.
As anticipation builds for Distracted, the new project marks Thundercat’s return six years after It Is What It Is, the Grammy-winning album that helped further cement his place as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary music. In the years since, he has continued to expand his reach through collaborations, television appearances, and a growing presence across music and pop culture.
Distracted arrives April 3 via Brainfeeder.
