Acclaimed vocalist and songwriter Karen Bernod returns to City Winery for a special performance celebrating her jazz roots, following the release of her album IRIS in May 2026. For the first time she is joined by her dynamic jazz ensemble including Music Director and keyboardist James Preston Jr., drummer Lucianna Padmore and bassist Yoshi Waki. Bernod will bring her signature warmth and soul to a mix of beloved covers and classics from her own catalog, all reimagined with a jazzy twist.

With a career spanning more than four decades, Bernod has moved seamlessly across soul, R&B and jazz, performing and recording with celebrated artists including Chaka Khan, Incognito, D’Angelo, Erykah Badu, Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross and Paul Simon. As a solo artist, she has forged her own distinctive path with acclaimed projects including Some Othaness For U, Life @ 360 Degrees, #PlantingSeeds and IRIS. With her three-octave voice, magnetic stage presence, infectious humor and natural connection with audiences, Bernod creates performances that feel both deeply personal and joyfully communal.
