Immortal Technique’s upcoming documentary, The (R)evolution of Immortal Technique, is set to release in Spring 2012, directed by Cary Stuart of Quarter Water Productions.

Cary Stuart and Quarter Water Productions capture a first-handed look at Immortal Technique’s childhood and adolescence, his emergence into the Hip-Hop scene, and his empowering music and philanthropic works that have made him a revolutionary icon.

The double-DVD documentary features in-depth conversations with major figures such as Chuck D., Dr. Cornel West, Ice T, and Woody Harrelson, along with personal commentary from close music friends AKIR, DJ Green Lantern, ILL BILL, Diabolic, and many others. Immortal Technique has spent recent years touring relentlessly, performing across the United States and overseas in Colombia, Sweden, Amsterdam, and more. The film culminates with his expedition in Afghanistan for the launching of the Amin Institue, an orphange, school, and medical facility established by Immortal Technique and Omeid International.

“[Immortal Technique] symbolize[s] the voice of truth all around the world in the name of rap music and Hip Hop.” – Chuck D

The Amin Institute was financed independently of corporate funding, with over 60K raised from Immortal Technique concert and album sales. Immortal Technique and partner Omeid International opened the Amin Institute doors in March 2009, enrolling its first class to 10 orphaned boys. As a testament to his involvement and commitment to the cause, Immortal Technique spent two weeks in Kabul where he assisted with the final construction, hiring of staff, and procurement of supplies, as well as being part of the opening ceremony. He also traveled to nearby regions of Kabul to raise awareness and gain insight toward the people of Afghanistan.

“The Amin Institute will be giving [children] a place to live and a chance to learn and rebuild their own nation.”Immortal Technique

To create the documentary, Cary Stuart personally captured seven years worth of filming combined with rare, archived footage from Immortal Technique’s early adolescence and pre-career rap battle days. The (R)evolution of Immortal Technique contains a second-disc with extended performances clips, interviews, and other extras and will be released in Spring 2012, followed by the highly anticipated release of his 5th album, The Middle Passage.
