Tonight, the band is joined by master trumpet player, Wendell Brunious. Wendell Brunious is a celebrated New Orleans trumpeter, composer, and educator whose lyrical phrasing and warm tone embody the elegance of the city’s traditional jazz lineage. The son of legendary trumpeter John Brunious, he carried the family legacy forward as a longtime member and former leader of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Over the course of his career, Brunious has performed and recorded with artists including Wynton Marsalis, Lionel Hampton, Danny Barker, and Dr. John, remaining a vital ambassador of New Orleans jazz around the world.
