Often described as the love child of Jazz and Boom Bap, Gengis Don’s music is both a tribute to his influences and a bold statement of his own artistry. Growing up, he was inspired by the legendary New York sounds of artists like 50 Cent, Ja Rule, Ashanti, Notorious B.I.G., Fat Joe, Nas, and Jay Z. These influences are unmistakable in his gritty, unapologetically raw drumming style, which has become a hallmark of his work. Despite his young age—just 28—Gengis Don has already collaborated with some of the most respected names in the music industry. His versatility and talent have led him to work with a diverse array of artists, including Solange, Bilal, ASAP Ferg, Standing on the Corner, Klein, keiyaA, Melanie Charles, Anna Wise, Mavi, Braxton Cook, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Marquis Hill, Christopher McBride, Pink Siifu, Phoelix and many others.
