Rich Medina is an elite DJ who’s captivating narrative plays like no other. His love affair with music began in his family’s church, arguably from the womb, and has blossomed into an internationally renowned career as a platinum selling record producer, recording artist, poet, journalist, curator, university and arts institution educator, and 2021 Pew Fellowship recipient.

Medina is sonic storyteller par excellence. His legendary Lil Ricky’s Rib Shack party shook APT’s dancefloor to its core for nine years in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District. Via Jump-N-Funk, North America’s original Fela Kuti tribute, Rich provided a blueprint for the world’s newfound interest in Afrobeat, which stands without peer to this day. His HOME residencies in NYC, Philadelphia and Los Angeles pay tribute to Larry Levan and the foundations of classic New York club life. In 2021, Rich was selected as the primary artist-in-residence and Music Director of Miami’s first Japanese-inspired listening room, Dante’s HiFi+.

As a highly respected spoken word artist, Rich has performed on stages around the world, and his sonorous voice has been utilized by Fisker, EA Sports, Nike and Pioneer. As an educator, Medina has lectured at TEDxPhilly and at his alma mater Cornell University, amongst numerous others. As a music producer, he’s collaborated with a range of artists, including Jill Scott, J Dilla, Bobbito Garcia and Phil Asher.

Skratch Bastid has been moving dance floors and captivating crowds across the globe for over two decades, establishing himself as one of the world’s most respected and beloved DJs. From packed clubs and massive stages to his legendary annual Bastid’s BBQs, he brings the same energy and precision to every stage he touches. Known for his electric stage presence, technical prowess and versatile selections that span the complete musical spectrum—from hip hop to house, disco to dancehall, reggae to funk and back again—Bastid is a true crowd favourite with an unrivaled ability to create unforgettable moments with not only music, but the community.

While touring was on hold over the lockdowns, Bastid added live-streaming to his performance repertoire with his weekly ‘Tuesday Morning Coffee’ stream which has allowed him to connect directly with his supporters through his own community membership called ‘Top Grillin’ VIP”. Thanks to his high-energy sets, charismatic personality and unbound musical knowledge, he has quickly become one of the most watched and followed DJs on Twitch.

From humble beginnings in Bedford, Nova Scotia, Bastid cut his teeth in the battle scene of the late 90s and early 2000s by competing in the DMCs, International Turtablist Federation and Scribble Jam. The latter produced one of his most iconic moments, the “Imperial March” routine that became his first brush with viral fame, and has over 10 million views on YouTube alone (and countless others from before social media even officially existed).

Bastid proved early on that he offered much more than just impressive tricks from his viral fame.

He’s also an accomplished producer with multiple Juno nominations, known for his collaborations with artists like Shad and DJ Jazzy Jeff. His demanding touring schedule has brought him all over the world, sometimes playing up to 200 shows a year in over 50 countries and in 2024, he had the honour of performing at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Bastid continues to expand his empire into many other successful creative ventures including the infamous Bastid’s BBQ, his very own traveling party in select global cities that plays host to a who’s who of hip hop and DJ culture including appearances by DJ Premier, 9th Wonder, Maseo, Brother Ali, A-Trak, Pete Rock, Lord Finesse and many, many more.
