The Yvonne Rogers Quartet will present new work including selections from Yvonne’s recent Roulette Awarded Artist Commission project entitled “Odes.” Odes is a collection of pieces directly inspired by the musical habits, rituals, and timbres unique to each member of the band. The compositions combine and expand upon those timbres, recorded and logged during individual meetings with each musician. Having performed together since 2024, this new book of music builds on the quartet’s collaborative history while pushing the group into new sonic territory. Their debut album “Brackish” will be released in January 2027.

Yvonne Rogers is a pianist and composer from coastal Maine, now based in Brooklyn, NY. Her work is rooted in improvisation and play, with an organic approach to rhythm and harmony informed by her rural upbringing. She is in demand as a bandleader and side-person, performing with artists including Adam O’Farrill, Mary Halvorson, Ingrid Laubrock, John Hollenbeck, Tomeka Reid, Ralph Alessi, and Harish Raghavan at venues and festivals worldwide from NYC Winter Jazz Fest to North Sea Jazz Festival. She has received the Roulette Awarded Artists Commission, Next Jazz Legacy Award, and Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composers Award, and has a bi-monthly performance residency at Close Up NYC. Her debut album “Seeds” was released in 2023. Her solo album “The Button Jar,” produced by Kris Davis, was released May 8th on Pyroclastic Records. She has released several recordings with the experimental electronic collective “My Trio,” and her forthcoming quartet record “Brackish” will be released on Intakt Records in January 2027.
