On Friday, August 14, 2026, legendary Detroit artist, DJ, producer, and cultural icon Moodymann (Kenny Dixon Jr.) will present MOODYMANN PLAYS PRINCE, a one-night-only celebration of Prince’s music, artistry, and enduring influence at The Regent Theater in Downtown Los Angeles.
Presented by Mahogani Music, Mama’s Crates, and Fusicology, the evening will feature Moodymann curating a deeply personal musical journey through Prince’s expansive catalog and creative legacy. Drawing from decades of inspiration, Moodymann will explore the sounds, spirit, and cultural impact of one of music’s most revolutionary artists through a genre-defying selection of music spanning funk, soul, house, jazz, rock, and beyond.
The event will also feature rare Prince visuals presented on the theater’s large screen, creating an immersive audiovisual experience that celebrates Prince’s artistry, innovation, and lasting impact on generations of musicians and fans.
A special guest, to be announced, will join the evening’s celebration, adding another unique dimension to this one-night-only event.
