Sariyah Idan commemorated the release of her debut EP “Deeper Than Skin“, now available on iTunes, and her first music video. Performing with a full 5 piece band, who are very talented in their own right, we were taken into a revolutionary rendezvous with Sariyah as she sang powerful, soulful, spirited songs filled with stories of joy, struggle, love and social justice.

Her mix of dub, folk, rock and soul – emotional, raw and political is refreshing particularly valuable in these tumultuous present times.  Highly recommended next time she is in your town, we look forward to all her upcoming shows and music releases.

Internationally touring artist Sariyah Idan is jazz and folk trained, hip-hop educated and influenced by the music of her Jewish roots. Raised in New York as a singer and dancer of world folk traditions, she has shared stages with legends Pete Seeger and Lee “Scratch” Perry, as well as recordings with Marcia Griffiths and Caron Wheeler on Dubblestandart’s album “Woman In Dub”.

Her debut solo EP “Deeper Than Skin” has been called “a unique blend of genres”. Striking a balance between sultry love songs and socio-political injustice, Tikkun Magazine reviewed the project as “a smooth delivery of raw truth, bold stance, and real vision—a soulful communiqué from an artist making a bold entrance onto the global stage.”
