Derrick Carter has been one of the most influential figures in house music for over three decades. A DJ, producer, and label head whose fingerprints are on the genre’s DNA, he helped lead Chicago house’s second wave in the ’90s alongside Cajmere, Felix Da Housecat, and Ron Trent, co-founded the Classic Music Company with Luke Solomon, and built a worldwide reputation as one of the best selectors alive. His influence stretches from Smart Bar to Defected, from Beatport charts to festival main stages.

Derrick Does Disco is where all of that knowledge gets funneled through its deepest root. The concept strips Carter’s sets back to the source — sprawling, multi-hour journeys through ’70s funk, ’80s Warehouse-era Chicago, classic disco, and the soulful foundations that house music was built on. It’s Derrick at his most joyful and most free, connecting the dots across five decades of dancefloor history in real time.
